An experienced Building Surveyor is required to join our client, a Property Insurance Claims Specialist who possess a wealth of Industry experience and knowledge within the Repair and Reinstatement Services to supporting a range of Businesses including Insurers, Managing General Agents, Loss Adjusters, Solicitors, Third Party Administrators etc. As experts in their field their team has a wide range of professionals including Surveyors, Engineers and Claims Technicians who proactively manage the lifecycle of the claim ensuring a seamless claims journey.

The role is predominantly Desk Based with occasional travel, circa 3-4 site visits per month throughout the Southern Region.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance with household and third-party damage claims, including tenders.
  • Take ownership and work closely with the Claims Team
  • Determine and recommend a site visit and arrange the appointment of a network contractor or cash settlement negotiations
  • Manage the tender process
  • Prepare reports by reviewing the property damage via video footage, images, provided quotes by customers and via other relevant sources
  • Review site reports and schedules
  • Prepare reports and updates to clients making decisions and recommendations
  • Negotiate cash settlements
  • Control costs for clients and reconcile costs
  • Desk based auditing of contractor performance

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience of Surveying within the Insurance Claims Sector – Essential
  • In-depth knowledge of building pathology, property repair works and their costs
  • Exceptional communication skills verbal and written
  • The ability to project manage
  • IT Literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to organise your own workload
  • Surveying, Buildings, and/or Industry Insurance related Qualifications would be desirable but not essential
  • Site visiting experience would be an advantage
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary circa up to £45,000 per annum
  • Car allowance £4,500 per annum or a higher mileage rate if using own car
